2020-2021 PA ACADEMY NOMINATING COMMITTEE

Description: The ODY is the highest honor bestowed upon a member of the Pennsylvania Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, recognizes a Pennsylvania dietitian whose leadership and service is exemplary and whose contributions to PA Academy and the public have been longstanding and exceptional. To be eligible for the Pennsylvania Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Outstanding Dietitian Award, candidates must have received the Keystone Award.

Description: Recognizes Pennsylvania dietitians who through their leadership ability demonstrated outstanding professional standards to serve and advance the aims of the PA Academy
Recognized Young Dietitian Award
Deadline: January 2021
Description: The RYDY is presented to members of the Academy who are 35 years of age or younger who have demonstrated leadership qualities and performance in public relations, research, community outreach, management, legislation, education, and other areas related to the profession, on the job and in the community.
Recognized Dietetic Technician of the Year Award
Deadline: January 2021
Description: The RYTY award honors the contributions of diet technicians to the profession. Award recipients have demonstrated leadership qualities and performance in the Academy or their employment through clinical nutrition, food service management, education, career guidance, legislation and public relations.
Emerging Dietetic Leader Award
Deadline: January 2021
Description: Recognizes the activities and competence of dietitians regardless of their age, who have made distinctive contributions early in their career to the Academy.
Outstanding Dietetics Educator Award
Deadline: November 22, 2020
Note: There will now be 2 levels for the Outstanding Dietetic Educator Award – ODEA
State Level – awarded at the PA Academy Annual AME for educators selected from each of the four program types in Pennsylvania.
National Level – awarded at the NDEP area meetings for educators
Description: Recognizes the excellence of educators in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics accredited and approved dietetic education programs.
Outstanding Dietetics Student Award
Deadline: January 2021
Description: Recognizes emerging leadership and achievement of students enrolled in Academy-accredited and approved dietetics education programs and encourages participation in the Academy
Outstanding Preceptor Awards (OPA)
Deadline: November 2020
Description: Application for PAND OPA award does not preclude National submission

Diversity Grant

Description: Community Relations Grants are awarded to support PA Academy members holding events that foster participation in activities in schools with a population of minority students. Please complete the application and submit to: PANDFoundation@gmail.com
National Nutrition Month Grant
Deadline: Apply Anytime
Description: National Nutrition Month Grants are awarded to Pennsylvania Academy members holding events that promote National Nutrition Month held annually in March. National Nutrition Month focuses attention on the importance of making informed food choices and developing sound eating and physical activity habits. There is a maximum of $100 allowed per grant with 15 grants available. Please complete the application and submit to PANDFoundation@gmail.com

ACADEMY OF NUTRITION & DIETETICS FOUNDATION (ANDF) SCHOLARSHIPS
